The actual one year anniversary of this blog was on August 1.
I look back to where I was one year ago. I was hopeful that I would finally, after years of putting other people first, begin to concentrate on my writing.
And then, Hurricane Katrina hit and everything changed.
So much that seemed important was less important. There was so much for each of us to do as individuals.
The Gulf Coat is still not put back together. I do my little bit -- and, oh, it is SUCH a little bit -- but, perhpas, in the coming year, my pen and my brain and my heart will be able to do the work I've relied for on my back and my hands.
