Sun Salutation
Mood:  energetic

If you have trouble retaining the sequence of the Sun Salutation, break it down.  Start with the first three poses.  Do them every day until they're in your body.  Then add the next one and so on, and so on.

Suddenly, the poses will make sense, and you'll be able to flow through the entire sequence.

Mountain Pose
Mood:  lyrical

Tadasana, or Mountain Pose, is one of my favorites.  It makes me feel connected to the Earth, like my roots go all the way down to the core, past the Tree of Knowledge, to the molten part.  It's as though the molten part of me unites with the molten core of Gaia.

I like to hold Tadasana with my hands in Prayer Pose.  A recent teacher encouraged me to hold it 3-5 minutes.  I like to hold it even longer, as a standing meditation.

Inner Meditation Sacred Space
Mood:  lyrical

When you close your eyes to enter your sacred meditation space, what do you see?

Because I love the beach and the water so much, I always assumed I'd see a seaside-type retreat.

However, the place I "arrive" when I close my eyes to meditate is a forest glen, filled with green grass, protected by sturdy oak trees.  A laughing brook runs through it, and there's a small pond of water.

That's where I feel tranquil.  That's where I feel safe.  That's where I feel I can find my soul.

Where do you go?

New Look, New Blog Home, Fresh Start
Mood:  a-ok

I've joined my sisters here, on Tripod.

Blog City saw fit to "remove" my blog because they felt it wasn't active enough.  First, they made me jump through hoops to get it back; then I discovered that their "updates" don't give me any freedom to create sacred space.

So what's the point?

Therefore, I came here.

I've had a rough year, but it's Yule, and I'm ready for a fresh start on a new blog.

Here we go.

I hope you will join me on the journey.

Blessings of the season upon you.
